On the evening of December 8, the Awards Ceremony of the 4th Fujian Province International, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Teachers and Students Art Festival,was hosted by Fujian Provincial Department of Education and organized by FAFU, came to an end in FAFU's student activity center. Wang Jiannan, secretary of the Party Committee of FAFU, Wang Yang, deputy director of the Fujian Provincial Education Department, leaders of Publicity Department of the CPC Fujian Provincial Committee, the United Front Work Department of the Fujian Provincial Party Committee, Fujian Provincial Education Department and the Foreign Affairs Office of the People’s Government of Fujian Province, overseas Chinese leaders of the Fujian General Chamber of Commerce from Kwana Province of South Africa, the representative from the Border Office of Fuzhou Airport, the International Department of the University of Luxembourg and the principal responsible person of the International Department of the Universities in Fuzhou (Office for Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Affairs), representatives of teachers and students in FAFU, and representatives of award-winning teachers and students attended the Festival. Chinese teachers and students from Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and overseas in Fujian watched the Award Ceremony live online.

Wang Jiannan Awarded the First Prize for the Dance Performance

The 4th Fujian Province International, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Teachers and Students Art Festival was launched in June 2021. Colleges and universities in Fujian were invited to participate in online and offline activities. Since June, Chinese teachers and students from Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and overseas were encouraged to engage in the Festival. Through the selection of video recording from universities, 19 colleges and universities submitted a total of 106 videos and works (including 17 stage performance works, 26 Chinese language works, 34 calligraphic, painting and photographic works and 29 short videos). On November 26, through selection and submission, committee review and expert evaluation, 106 works won awards, including 7 first-prize winners, 11 second-prize winners and 15 third-prize winners and the according instructors won the Outstanding Instructor Awards. FAFU has won the first prize in the stage performance category with dance performance Fragrant Tea and Graceful Silk, Fortune Comes to Fujian, the second prize in the graphic work category with short video All Are well and the third prize with work Fresh Fujian and Fresh Fuzhou.

The works were exhibited at the Awards Ceremony, and the first, second and third prizes were awarded to the graphic works category (short videos and painting and calligraphic works), Chinese language category and stage performance category. FAFU's Fragrant Tea and Graceful Silk, Fortune Comes to Fujian. Fujian Medical University's poetry recitation China under the Moonlight, Minnan Normal University's Chinese language performance Because of You, Huaqiao University's traditional drum music The Other Side and lion dance performance Adventures of the Lion, and Wuyi College's physical dance Warmth were presented on site. The wonderful talent shows from teachers and students from Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and overseas, as well as the intersection of spiritual elegance and atmospheric performance, demonstrated the profound traditional Chinese culture and the unique charm of Fujian culture, and expressed the vision of building a community of human destiny together to connect Chinese and the rest of the world.

FAFU Students Sang the Chorus of Breath

It is reported that in order to encourage teachers and students from Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and overseas in Fujian to learn Chinese culture and integrate into Fujian culture better, Fujian Provincial Department of Education has held a talent show for teachers and students from Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and overseas every two years since 2015. This year is the fourth time for Fujian to hold this event, and it is also its first time to hold a large-scale talent show online and offline under the regular epidemic prevention and control, which is a meaningful for colleges and universities in Fujian to explore and promote Chinese culture, tell Chinese stories well and build a stronger brand of Study in Fujian.
