Application Qualification

  1.       Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens. Chinese citizens who apply for study in China as foreign students after immigrating to a foreign country must hold a valid foreign passport or nationality certificate for more than 4 years (including), have a record of actual residence in a foreign country for more than 2 years in the last 4 years (up to April 30 of the enrollment academic year) (the actual residence in a foreign country for more than 9 months in a year can be calculated as one year, based on entry and exit visas).

  2.          Physical and mental health, in accordance with the Entry-Exit Administration Law of the People's Republic of China and our university regulations of the physical examination requirements, professional physical examination restrictions referring to the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Health, China Disabled Persons' Federation issued the Guidance for Physical Examination Work in regular institutions of Higher Learning (Teaching [2003] 3) and other supplementary provisions. Those suffering from serious mental disorders, infectious tuberculosis or other infectious diseases that are likely to cause serious harm to public health shall not be admitted.   3.    To apply for a bachelor’s program, the applicant must have at least a senior high school diploma, and be under the age of 25 years old (born after April 30, 1998); to apply for a master’s program, the applicant must have at least a bachelor’s degree, and be under the age of 35 years old (born after April 30, 1988); to apply for a doctor’s program, you must have at least a master’s degree, and be under the age of 40 years old (born after April 30, 1983).

  4.       International students from non-English speaking countries who apply for English-teaching programs should must meet the minimum English proficiency requirement IELTS 6.5 / TOEFL 85 points or above, or provide an equivalent level of language ability certificate. Applicant with good Chinese language skill is preferred; International students who apply for Chinese-teaching programs should have HSK-5 certificate or above.

  5.      Applicants should have no criminal record, abide by Chinese laws, regulations and school disciplines, respect Chinese people’s customs and habits, and be friendly to China.

Documents for Applying

  1.          Scanned copy of passport personal information page (passport validity shall be at least until February, 2024).If the validity period of your current passport does not meet the requirements, please renew your passport in time.

  2.     The highest education certificate. For non-Chinese and English versions, notarized Chinese or English translation shall be attached.Applicants who have not graduated by the time of application are required to provide an official letter from their current university stating the expected graduation date(Please see Attachment 2).

  3.      Academic transcripts (from the undergraduate program onwards). The scanned copy of the transcript should include the grades of high school, undergraduate, master's (if any), doctoral (if any) studies up to the most recent semester.. These transcripts shall be issued and sealed by the attending university’s academic affairs office, graduate school, or student management department. Transcripts can be provided in English or Chinese. For non-English languages, an English translation must be provided and notarized.

  4.     Study plan in China. The applicant should submit a Chinese/English study plan (at least 1000 words) with emphasis on the major background, research direction, future study/research plan, etc., as well as a brief description of the intention to come to China and the understanding of China and the university.

  5.      Chinese / English proficiency test certificate or equivalent language proficiency certificate. Applicants who are unable to provide evidence of standardized English tests and whose degree studies were conducted in English at the previous stage are required to provide relevant evidence. (Applicants from English-speaking Countries are not required to provide language proficiency certificate for programs taught in English).

  6.        Resume.

  7.     Two recommendation letters from experts with associate professors or above are required (no requirement for applicants applying for bachelor's degree). The content should focus on the requirements of the applicant’s study objectives in China, the cooperation between the Chinese university or the Chinese tutor and the foreign tutor or the inter-school exchange (if any), as well as the evaluation of the student's comprehensive ability and future development. The employer,professional title and contact details of the recommender should be included. The issuance date should be after December 1st, 2022.

  8.          If the applicant is under 18 years old, relevant legal documents of the legal guardian in China shall be submitted.

  9.        The Financial Guarantee Certificate issued by the bank or the guarantee certificate issued by the economic guarantor (not required for scholarship students).

  10.          Scanned copy of “Physical Examination Form for Foreigners” (uniformly printed by China Health and quarantine department, see Attachment 3). The applicant shall carry out the examination in strict accordance with the items required in the physical examination form for foreigners. The physical examination form without items, personal photo, stamp on the photo, signature of doctor and seal of hospital is invalid, the validity period of physical examination result is 6 months.(after December 2022).

  11.      Certificate of no criminal record. Applicants who are currently in China should also provide a Chinese or bilingual letter of recommendation on school performance issued by the international student management department or training college they are currently studying.

  12.          Proof of School Performance. If the applicant is studying in China, you should submit a certificate of school performance issued by the student administration department. (Please see Attachment 4.)

  13.      Statement of your views about China. Truthfully answer the questions and sign confirm. (Please see Attachment 5.)

  14.            Electronic version of personal ID photo. (Please see Attachment 6.)

Note: The submitted materials must be clear, true and valid. The applicant is advised to use professional equipment to scan the relevant documents to be submitted. Any consequences caused by unclear or unidentifiable materials should be borne by the applicant. If the above materials are found to be fake, the applicant will be disqualified immediately. The above originals shall be checked at the time of registration. Those who cheat will be disqualified for admission.

Application Procedure

i.              Individual Application: Online Registration

The online registration time is from Dec 10, 2022 to April 30, 2023 (12:00a.m. Beijing time). Applicants who meet the application conditions shall log in the China International Student Service System Fujian Agricultural and Forestry University (Website: within the specified time limit and submit the application materials listed. We do not accept any paper application materials, there is NO NEED to send separate paper application materials.. 

ii.              Preliminary Qualification Examination

Before May, 2023, the International College will conduct the preliminary qualification examination on the applicants to ensure that the materials are completed, then review the passport, language ability certificate and other materials. After the preliminary qualification examination, the list of qualified applicants and relevant materials will be sent to each training college.

iii.              Academic Assessment and Determination of the Proposed Admission List

From May to June, 2023, after receiving the list of qualified applicants, the training college will choose applicants for academic assessment based on the materials submitted. The Proposed Admission List will be determined after the academic assessment, which is conducted by face-to-face communication, online video or telephone.

iv.              Admission and follow-up work

The International College collects the proposed admission list submitted by each training college and publishes it on the website for 10 working days. Upon the expiration of the publicity period, the International College will issue admission letters based on approval of relevant government department and FAFU.
