From May 13 to 15, the 2nd International Symposium on Orchid Conservation and Utilization was held in Changsheng Conference Center, Fujian Agriculture and Forestry University. The conference was held online and on-site in combination, aiming to increase the exchange and cooperation between international orchid plant scholars, and it built a platform for exchange of information and cultivation experience, jointly promoting the development of the orchid industry.

At the seminar, Professor Liu Hong from Florida International University, Professor Tomohisa Yukawa from Tokyo National Museum of Tsukuba Botanical Garden, Professor Yin Weilun, academician of Beijing Forestry University, Professor Lan Siren, President of Fujian Agriculture and Forestry University and other 9 experts gave keynote speeches respectively, and Professor Cai Wenjie from National Cheng Kung University and other 23 experts gave special reports. These reports cover a wide range of topics, including in situ and ex situ conservation of orchids, conservation and reproductive ecology of orchids, taxonomy of orchids, genomics and molecular regulation, orchid breeding industrialization, orchid industry and rural revitalization and other related issues and research.
