Over 90% of the Solomon Islands’ population is engaged in agriculture, which accounts for 60% of the country’s GDP. Prime Minister Manele expressed his appreciation for Juncao technology, highlighting its role in enhancing the sustainability of agricultural development in island nations. He emphasized that Juncao technology embodies “Chinese wisdom” and offers “Chinese solutions” to key challenges like poverty alleviation, hunger reduction, job creation, and climate change.
Manele expressed particular interest in the possibility of establishing a Juncao Technology Demonstration Center in the Solomon Islands, following its official launch in Fiji last year. He also expressed gratitude to FAFU for offering five full scholarship positions annually to researchers and students to study in Fujian. Manele believes this initiative will mark a new chapter in bilateral cooperation.
On behalf of the Solomon Islands, Manele thanked China for its strong support in advancing the country’s economic and social development. He also expressed hope for expanding cooperation across various fields to achieve mutual benefit.
