On the afternoon of May 13th, meeting between FAFU & DAL for Deepening Cooperation was held at Wuyi Hall in FAFU. Matt Hebb, Dalhousie's Vice-president of Government and Global Relations, and Zheng Baodong, Vice President of FAFU, attended the meeting. Zheng Baodong chaired the meeting.
Meeting for deepening cooperation between DAL and FAFU
At the meeting, the two sides shared the progress of building FAFU-DAL Joint College and the cooperation between the two universities.
Zheng Baodong acknowledged the friendly cooperation between the two universities in promoting exchanges and cooperation, mutual support and common development. He said that the establishment of the Joint College is a witness to the firm partnership between the two universities for many years, and it is a milestone to open a new chapter and deepen sustainable cooperation. He hoped that the Joint College will serve as a platform to expand cooperation between the two universities to an all-round level in more fields including engineering, computer science and management. He hoped that breakthrough can be made in joint postgraduate programs in food science and engineering as well as environmental science and engineering through further coordinating the advantageous educational resources of the two universities and continuously enhancing cooperation. It is also expected that by effective utilization of the development funds, the two sides will strengthen exchanges and cooperation in scientific research, faculty team building, international conference and talent training in the fields such as landscape architecture, aquaculture, and animal science.
Matt Hebb thanked FAFU for the thoughtful arrangements made for the establishment ceremony of the Joint College and the support provided for its building. He stated that Dalhousie University has always cherished the firm cooperative relationship between the two universities, highly recognized the importance of deepening mutual beneficial cooperation, and the necessity of expanding cooperation in different disciplines and scientific research. He said that Dalhousie University will continue to provide full support and guarantee for the concerns of both universities.
