Training Objectives

     The training objectives of the department of veterinary medicine are to teach students to have the abilities of veterinary clinical science, veterinary education and scientific research, veterinary technical management and services, veterinary law enforcement and supervision, through professional training system of veterinary science, natural science and humanities.
Training Requirements  

The major requirements, that students in the department of veterinary medicine are concerned, include basic veterinary science, clinical veterinary science and preventive veterinary science. Students should master the knowledge of veterinary diagnosis, veterinary therapeutics, prevention and control of animal infections, zoonoses, animal welfare, animal origin food safety and veterinary law enforcement and supervision.
Graduates should possess the following knowledge and ability:
    Master of basic knowledge of veterinary science, clinical veterinary science, preventive veterinary science, including veterinary diagnosis, veterinary surgery, etiology, pathogenesis, therapeutics, prevention and control of infections and animal quarantine.
    Possess of the knowledge of biological products, medical development and animal origin food safety, animal protection and animal welfare.
    Awareness of the development of feed industry, feed safety, animal science and environmental protection.
    Familiar with the development of agriculture, basic knowledge of life science and natural science.
     Master of the bibliographic retrieval and modern information retrieval, data analysis, experimental design, paper writing and academic exchanges.
Having the abilities of research and decision-making, organization and management, oral and written expression, independent access to knowledge, information processing, scientific research and innovation.
Having the examination qualification of the professional qualification grade certificate of companion veterinarian, veterinarian, veterinary quarantine inspector, etc.

Main subjects  
    The main subjects are basic veterinary science, preventive veterinary science and clinical veterinary science.
Main curriculum
    The main curriculum are included: animal anatomy, animal histology and embryology, animal physiology, animal biochemistry, veterinary pathology, veterinary pharmacology, veterinary microbiology, veterinary immunology, veterinary internal medicine, veterinary surgery, veterinary obstetrics, animal infection and epidemiology, veterinary parasites and animal origin food hygiene, etc.
Main practice training courses
     Main practice training courses are included: course practice of animal anatomy, the general and course practice of basic veterinary science, the course practice of veterinary pathology, the general and course practice of veterinary diagnosis, the general and course practice of veterinary practitioner, the general and course practice of veterinary surgery, etc.
     Main course paper are the course paper of traditional Chinese veterinary science, the course paper of veterinary pharmacology, the course paper of animal science, etc. and graduation field work and graduation thesis.

 Main experimental curriculum

     Main experimental curriculum is experiment of Animal biochemistry, experiment of animal morphology, experiment of animal physiology,  experiment of veterinary diagnosis, comprehensive experiment of veterinary clinical science, comprehensive experiment of prevention veterinary science, experiments of veterinary microbiology, experiments of veterinary immunology, etc.

    Bachelor's degree in agronomy
    The credits of compulsory courses for graduates are not less than 182 credits, including 117.5 credits of required course, 24 credits of optional course, 15 credits of personalized development, 25.5 credits of practice training courses.
