Dr. Fei Guo from the University of Canterbury in New Zealand came to our school for academic exchanges

Dr. Guo Fei from the University of Canterbury, New Zealand gave an academic report entitled Molecular deformation of wood and cellulose studied by NIR and Raman spectroscopyat the Qishan Campus beginning att 16:00 on July 11, 2019. The meeting was chaired by Professor Yu Yan, an expert of the National Ten Thousand People Plan. More than 30 teachers and postgraduates, including Dean Qiu Renhui and Associate Dean Rao Jiuping attended the meeting.

Dr. Fei Guo mainly introduced his research work and progress in New Zealand during his doctoral stage. Taking New Zealand's important plantation tree species Eucalyptus as the research object, he analyzed the influence of growth stress on the processing and utilization of eucalyptus. From the perspective of cellulose molecular deformation, the possibility of using near-infrared spectroscopy and Raman spectroscopy to predict the growth stress of wood was explored, and the influence of growth stress on the deformation of cellulose molecules was analyzed. in accordance with. After the meeting, the teachers and students at the meeting had an intense interest in the content of the report, and had a lively discussion with Dr. Guo Fei.
