On the afternoon of February 20th, the delegation led by Wang Guangyu from the University of British Columbia (UBC) met with President Lan Siren and other university officials.

Speech by Lan Siren
On behalf of the university, Lan Siren expressed welcome and gratitude to the delegation for UBC’s continuous efforts to strengthen cooperative education. After a brief introduction to FAFU and its international cooperation and exchanges, Lan Siren pointed out that tremendous advances have been made in the cooperation between FAFU and UBC. As UBC Faculty of Forestry is globally-recognized for its award-winning educational programs, research and initiatives, Lan Siren hoped to further advance mutual exchanges and cooperation for higher-quality talent education.

Wang Guangyu said that UBC prioritized and supported the cooperative education with FAFU because the two universities have established profound friendship based on years of cooperation. He hoped that closer and deeper cooperation in more areas will be carried out to ensure win-win cooperation in education.
The meeting witnessed their spirited discussions about discipline development and exchange of personnel and students, contributing to a consensus on deepening friendship and exploring modes of intensive cooperation.
