Recently, the National Scholarship Management Committee released the list of funded projects for 2024 National Collaborative Training Program for Innovative Talent. FAFU's “China-Canadian Joint Forestry Top Innovative Talent Training Program” has officially received funding. Relying on the profound cooperation foundation and project implementation experience between the School of Forestry of the University and the Faculty of Forestry, the University of British Columbia, Canada, the program makes full use of the international leading advantages of the two sides in forestry, ecology and other research fields, and jointly builds a high-level faculty team, aiming to cultivate a group of innovative talents. The program will utilize the international leading advantages of both sides in forestry, ecology and other research fields, and jointly build a high-level faculty team to cultivate a group of high-level forestry innovative talents with global vision, advanced concepts and professional technology, and to enhance the level of construction of first-class disciplines of forestry in the university.
The project will be implemented from 2024 to 2026, and five outstanding graduate students will be selected and sent to the Canadian side for training every year, including two doctoral students and three joint doctoral students. It is expected that the first batch of graduate students will be selected in March 2024 for dispatch.
