On November 23, Professor Yang Qiu’e of Zhou Shungui’s team from College of Resources and Environment published a paper titled “Interphylum dissemination of NDM-5-positive plasmids in hospital wastewater from Fuzhou, China: a single-centre, culture-independent, plasmid transmission study” in The Lancet Microbe, the top international microbiology journal owned by The Lancet (IF=38.2). The paper is the first one published by FAFU in The Lancet Microbe.

Fujian Agriculture and Forestry University is the first affiliation of the research, with Professor Yang Qiu’e being the first author. Professor Zhou Shungui from FAFU and Professor Timothy R. Walsh from Oxford University are co-corresponding authors. The research was supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China and the Natural Science Foundation of Fujian Province.
