Recently, Times Higher Education officially announced the China Subject Ratings 2023, with a total of 95 mainland universities on the list. FAFU has a total of 21 subjects on the list, including 1 Grade A subject, 14 Grade B subjects, and 6 Grade C subjects. Together with Harbin Engineering University, China University of Petroleum (Beijing), and Donghua University, FAFU ranks 28th in terms of the number of subjects on the list.  On the other hand, FAFU ranks 2nd among agricultural and forestry universities in the country, and ranks 3rd among universities in Fujian Province. The details of subjects listed in Grade B and above are shown in the table.

The Times Higher Education China Subject Ratings are the performance tables that judge Chinese institutions against their global peers based on the Chinese Ministry of Education’s classification of subjects to support institutional excellence. The ratings measure performance of universities in 83 subjects on a grading scale from A+ to C-.
