On March 22nd, the opening ceremony of the China-Pacific Island Countries Juncao Demonstration Center was held in Suva, the capital of Fiji. The ceremony was attended by Mr. Zhou Jian, Ambassador of the Chinese Embassy in Fiji, other governmental officials from China and Fiji, embassy representatives of Pacific island countries, and representatives of Chinese-funded companies and overseas Chinese.
In his speech, Mr. Tang Wenhong, Vice Chairman of China International Development Cooperation Agency, stated that Juncao technology is an exemplification of China’s practice to apply the successful experience in poverty alleviation to the global sustainable development. So far, the technology has been adopted by over 100 countries. Thanks to the successful cooperation of Juncao technology between China and Fiji, the demonstration center is established in the island country.
Mr. Vatimi Rayalu, Minister for Agriculture and Waterways, noted that the Juncao technology provided by the Chinese government will help Fiji and other Pacific island countries alleviate poverty and make more progress in their development. He was convinced that the two countries will see brighter future in the cooperation of Juncao technology.
