On June 17,U.S. News & World Report released its 2025–2026 Best Global Universities Rankings. FAFU is ranked 667th globally, marking an 82-place improvement from the previous year. It also ranks 193rd in Asia, 94th among universities in the Chinese mainland, 7th among agricultural and forestry universities nationwide, and 2nd among provincial universities in Fujian.
In the subject rankings, 14 disciplines at FAFU made the global list, with Computer Science newly added this year. Of the remaining disciplines, 10 saw improvements over last year. Among them, three rank in the global top 50, and six in the top 100.

Over the past decade, FAFU has made continuous strides in its core academic development. The university has attracted and nurtured 84 scholars who have been awarded a total of 165 national-level honorary titles. Two of its disciplines have ranked among the global top 0.1% in the Essential Science Indicators (ESI), and ten have entered the top 1%. FAFU researchers have published 19 papers in the top-tier journals CNS (Cell, Nature, and Science) as first or corresponding authors, led two projects that received the National Science and Technology Progress Award, and secured approval to establish the State Key Laboratory of Agricultural and Forestry Biosecurity.
