On August 23rd, FAFU Confucius Institute at Durban University of Technology (DUT) held the “Chinese+” E-commerce training course and the “Belt and Road E-commerce” training program. Over 40 faculty members and students of DUT attended the training which was held both online and offline.
The opening ceremony for the training program welcomed the presence of Mr. Fei Mingxing, Chinese Consul General in Durban, Mr. Zheng Wenzhi, President of the Dongguan Chamber of Commerce, Mr. Yin Xiaoliang, Vice-President of the Dongguan Chamber of Commerce, Mr. Yan Ming, Director of Dongguan Economic and Trade Representative Office in South Africa, Mr. Richard Radebe, Director for International Relations of the KwaZulu-Natal Premier’s Office, Ms. Ntokozo Ngcobo, Entrepreneurship and Innovation Centre Manager at DUT, and Mr. Wu Lin, Co-Dean of the DUT Confucius Institute.

By analyzing the successful cases of China’s E-commerce platforms and demonstrating China-South Africa trading ties and the prospects of the development of South Africa’s E-commerce, the program offered new channels for entrepreneurship and innovation to help the attendees apply what they have learned to catch up with the times and identify their goals.
