On March 10, Ms. Sarah Mann, British Consul General to Guangzhou, along with her delegation, visited FAFU to seek educational cooperation. Professor Lai Hairong, Chair of the University Council, and Professor Zheng Baodong, Vice President of FAFU met with the delegation and held discussions.

Lai Hairong extended a warm welcome to Ms. Sarah Mann and the delegates, and expressed gratitude for their long-standing support and assistance to the internationalization initiative of FAFU. Prof Lai provided a brief overview of FAFU’s achievements in scientific research, education and achievements, and international exchanges. He highlighted the solid foundation of cultural and educational exchanges between China and the UK, which unlocks vast potential for collaboration between FAFU and British universities. Prof Lai emphasized that FAFU has always valued cooperation with British universities and has established close and productive partnerships with several universities in the UK across various fields. He hoped that the British Consulate General in Guangzhou will continue to facilitate communication and collaboration between FAFU and British universities to explore new opportunities in cultural exchanges, cooperative education, and joint research.
Ms. Sarah Mann expressed her appreciation for the warm reception and considerate arrangements, and spoke highly of the progress made by FAFU in strengthening China-British educational exchanges and cooperation, particularly in exploring future collaborative opportunities with British universities. She noted that the UK and China have reached broad consensus on educational cooperation, and affirmed that the British Consulate General in Guangzhou would continue to support the partnership programs between FAFU and British universities, further promoting the deepening of educational cooperation between the two countries.
Representatives from the Consular Office of Foreign Affairs Office of the People’s Government of Fujian Province and directors of FAFU’s General Office and the International Cooperation and Exchange Office were also present at the panel discussion.
