FAFU-DAL Joint College Holds Management Meeting

On February 26, the joint management committee of FAFU-DAL Joint College held its first online meeting in 2025. The meeting was chaired by Prof. Zheng Baodong, Vice President of FAFU and Director of the Committee. Mr. Matt Hebb, Vice President of Dalhousie University and Deputy Director of the Committee, and other committee members from both universities were also in attendance. The meeting mainly discussed issues related to the operation of the Joint College, the utilization of development funds, and the expansion of new major programs.

 

The meeting reviewed the overall operation of the Joint College during the first semester of the 2024-2025 academic year, with in-depth discussions on issues such as faculty recruitment and the sharing of teaching resources. The committee also reviewed the Management for the Development Funds of the FAFU-DAL Joint College and discussed the enrollment promotion campaign for the Joint College in 2025. The committee planned to attract more students through diversified promotional strategies and channels. The feasibility of expanding new programs is another agenda of discussion. Zheng Baodong noted that the Joint College made a good start in student enrollment in its inaugural year of 2024, and he hoped that the two universities would cooperate closer to enhance faculty development and further expand cooperative programs.

 

Matt Hebb, Vice President of DAL, expressed strong confidence in the future development of the Joint College. He emphasized that FAFU is a key partner for DAL and hoped that both universities would exploit their strengths to deepen cooperation and jointly promote the high-quality development of the College.

 

This meeting outlined new goals and approaches for the next phase of the Joint College’s development in terms of enhancing the quality and scale of its programs and improving its overall strength and influence.
