On the afternoon of October 30, a delegation of 24 scholars from think tanks in emerging markets and developing countries visited FAFU. The delegates were accompanied by Tang Haijun, a high-level official from the Research Office of the International Department, CPC Central Committee. Professor Lin Zhanxi, FAFU’s chief JunCao scientist and heads from other university departments were also present.

Dr. Lin Dongmei from National Engineering Research Center of JunCao Technology briefed the delegates on the technology and its role in the implementation of the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development for developing countries along the Belt and Road. She then took the delegation to visit the International JunCao Garden, production facilities of edible and medicinal fungus, as well as demonstration zones for the various applications of the technology, such as the production of feedstuff and cultivation of mushroom. Major achievements in the research and application of JunCao technology were also displayed to the delegates.
Fabio Elghorri, head of the delegation, thanked FAFU for its hospitality. He spoke highly of the emerging JunCao industry’s contributions towards improving people’s livelihood in countries along the Belt and Road through its wide-ranging applications and grassroot projects. He also appreciated how it has significantly helped achieve the UN 2030 Sustainable Development Goals. The delegates hoped to promote JunCao technology in more developing countries through cooperation between universities and governments.
