A 14-member delegation from Malaysian universities visited FAFU on December 17th, led by Datuk Lee Sze Wei, President of Tunku Abdul Rahman University of Management and Technology (TAR UMT), Vice President Loke Chui Fung, and Professor Wong Siew Ching, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities, Management and Science at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM). FAFU President Lan Siren received the delegation, with Vice President Zheng Baodong chairing the meeting.

Welcoming the delegation, President Lan highlighted FAFU’s focus on engaging overseas Chinese intellectual resources, particularly noting Malaysia’s rich potential in this regard. He emphasized prospects for collaboration in joint research, digital education, cultural exchanges, and faculty-student exchange programs.
Datuk Lee thanked FAFU for its hospitality. After introducing TAR UMT’s existing partnerships with Chinese universities, Datuk Lee noted the immense potential for cooperation between FAFU and his institution, pledging support for establishing comprehensive cooperation through formal agreements.
Professor Wong of UPM acknowledged FAFU’s contributions to bilateral relations since their 2017 partnership agreement and expressed commitment to furthering Malaysia-China cultural exchanges.
FAFU’s Vice President Zheng outlined plans for trilateral cooperation, focusing on joint educational programs, industry-academia research platforms, and scientific innovation projects to support regional economic and social development in both countries.
The meeting concluded with preliminary agreements on several initiatives, including joint educational programs, laboratory development, youth exchanges, and the establishment of a Confucius Institute.
