School Leaders Visit Students Staying on Campus for Winter Vacation

On the afternoon of January 16th, as the Spring Festival approached, school leaders delegation, including Lai Hairong (Chair of the University Council), Chen Yan (Chair of FAFU Discipline Inspection Commission), Zeng Huaping (Vice Chair of the University Council), Chen Shikui (Vice Chair of the University Council), and Vice Presidents Lin Qingfan, Zhou Shungui, Zheng Baodong, and Tang Zhenpeng, paid visits to students who will stay on campus during the winter vacation, and extended their warm New Year wishes while handing out New Year gifts.

Students received New Year gifts along with greetings and best wishes from school leaders at their dormitories.

At the Dongyuan Aerobic Fitness Room, the school officials inquired about the accessibility of sports facilities during the vacation and emphasized the importance of maximizing the use of sports venues. They also encouraged students to maintain good exercise habits, thus enhancing their physical fitness and enjoying a fulfilling and meaningful holiday on campus.

They also inspected the development of the “one-stop” student community and emphasized the importance of leveraging the community to create an enabling environment for students to enjoy a rich cultural and social life.

In the Laboratory of Animal Pathogen Infection and Immunology, the leaders spoke with Kul Raj Rai, a Nepalese postdoctoral fellow in biology, to learn about his academic field and research progress, encouraging him to focus on global cutting-edge development, and explore new frontiers in science and academia.

At the Fu Culture Study Club, school leaders talked with international students from Russia, Ghana, Nigeria, Bangladesh, Myanmar, Papua New Guinea, Nepal and Sudan. They presented New Year gifts, showed concern for the students’ academic progress and lives and extended best wishes for a joyful Spring Festival, good health, and academic excellence. The international students actively showcased their handwritten Spring Festival couplets and invited Mr. Lai Hairong to join them in writing the Chinese character “福” (Fu, or blessing) to usher in the new year together. As the Spring Festival approaches, the special care and warmth from the school has deepened their sense of belonging and appreciation for Chinese culture. Muktar Ukasha Zololo, a Business Administration postgraduate from Nigeria, excitedly exclaimed: “Happy New Year! Africa welcomes you, too!”
