On June 25, 2024, U.S. News & World Report released its 2024-2025 Global University Rankings. FAFU ranks 749th globally, an improvement of 181 places compared to that of the previous year. In Asia, FAFU increases from 246 last year to 220 in 2024. Nationally, it ranks 98th among universities in the Chinese mainland, 8th among agricultural and forestry universities, and 3rd among universities in Fujian Province.
In terms of subject rankings, FAFU has 13 academic disciplines featured on the list, with 3 ranking among the global top 50 and 5 in the top 100. These disciplines include: Food Science and Engineering (20th), Polymer Science (28th), Agricultural Sciences (34th), Plant and Animal Science (72nd), Environmental Engineering (87th), Biotechnology and Applied Microbiology (101st), Microbiology (150th), Environment/Ecology (372nd), Molecular Biology and Genetics (377th), Biology and Biochemistry (393rd), Chemistry (550th), Materials Science (610th), and Engineering (686th).
