According to the latest ESI statistics released by Clarivate Analytics in January 2025, FAFU ranks first among regional agricultural and forestry universities nationwide with 257,656 total citations, 10 disciplines in the top 1%, and 2 in the top 1‰. These achievements surpass those of three prominent agricultural and forestry universities in the country.
FAFU ties with Huazhong Agricultural University for 4th place nationally in the number of disciplines ranked in ESI global top 1‰. For disciplines in the global top 1%, it shares 7th place with Nanjing Forestry University among agricultural and forestry universities nationwide. Among Fujian-based universities, FAFU ranks 2nd in both categories - following Fuzhou University in top 1‰ disciplines and tying with Fujian Normal University in top 1% disciplines.
Currently, FAFU has 10 disciplines listed in ESI global top 1%: Plant & Animal Science, Agricultural Sciences, Environmental Ecology, Chemistry, Engineering, Biology & Biochemistry, Microbiology, Materials Science, Pharmacology & Toxicology, and Molecular Biology & Genetics. Among these, Plant & Animal Science and Agricultural Sciences have entered the top 1‰ list.
