Undergraduate training program

1.Major : Electronic and Information Engineering     

     Training Objective
     To foster compound engineering talents who possess basic theory, specialized knowledge and basic skills on electronic technology, communication technology and information system and are capable of engaging in the study, design, production, application and exploitation on electronic equipment, communication system, information system and network system in enterprises and institutions.
      Main Courses
      Concise Prelude to Programming, Data Structure, Low Frequency Electronic Circuit, Digital Logic, Computer Principal and its Interface Technology, Assembly Language, Signals and System, Digital Signal Processing, Data Communication Principal, Computer Network and so on.
      Employment Orientation
      Graduates are fitted to engage in the study, design, production, application and exploitation on electronic equipment, communication system, information system and network system in various enterprises, institutions, telecommunication sectors, institutes of scientific research and state administrative departments at all levels.


2.Major :Computer Science and Technology 
     Training Objective
     To foster high quality professionals who master computer science and technology theory, computer software and hardware system and applied knowledge, accept basic practical training in this major with good foreign language skills and are capable of engaging in computer science, technology and the application of its related fields.
     Main Courses
     Advanced Mathematics, Discrete Mathematics, Introduction to Computer Science, Concise Prelude to Programming, Object-Oriented Programming, Computer Network, Principals of Computer Organization, Assembly Language, Basic course of Software Engineering, Operating System, Data Structure, Compiler Principal, Principal and Application of Database and so on.
     Employment Orientation
     Graduates are fitted to engage in the study, design, application and exploitation of computer teaching and computer system in various scientific research departments, educational institutions, enterprises, institutions, technological and administrative departments and so on. This major students can choose to study in Dalhousie University in the latter two years and they can obtain qualification of Dalhousie University simultaneously if their results are qualified. 

 

3.Major : Software Engineering 
     Training Objective
     To foster high quality professionals of software engineering who have basic skills on the exploitation of computer application software, a good mastery of basic theoretical knowledge, strong practical ability, preliminary experience in the practice of software exploitation and project organization, team and competition spirit and can be adapted to technology progress and rapid change of social needs.
     Main Courses
     Advanced Mathematics, Discrete Mathematics, Concise Prelude to Programming, Object-Oriented Programming, Data Structure, Operating System, Principal of Database, Software Project Management, Introduction to Software Engineering, Software Design and Architecture, Software Quality Assurance and Testing and so on.
     Employment Orientation
     Graduates are fitted to engage in the analysis, design,exploitation, testing, maintenance and management of software project in famous IT enterprises in and outside the province and they can also engage in computer teaching, scientific research and application system development in  scientific research departments, educational institutions, institutions and administrative departments and so on. This major students can choose to study in Dalhousie University in the latter two years and they can obtain qualification of Dalhousie University simultaneously if their results are qualified. 

 

4. Major: Information and Computation Science 
     Training Objectives
     The training goal is to cultivate applied talents with a sound mathematical basis and mathematical thinking ability and a good command of basic theories and elementary knowledge of information and computational science. And what’s more, he or she must have received the primary scientific research training so that he or she can make full use of mathematical theories to deal with the information processing, the scientific computing, the software development, and the modeling by mathematical methods. Only in this way can their basic abilities to collect and process information be achieved and their competence in software design and development of computer information system and algorithm research be proved.

      Mathematical Analysis, Advanced Algebra, Space Analytic Geometry, Probability and Mathematical Statistics, Ordinary Differential Equations, Discrete Mathematics, Numerical Analysis, Information Theory and Coding, Analysis of Information System and Designing, Data Structure, Foundations of Programming, etc.
     Employment Orientation
     Graduates are suitable to undertake such jobs including the research, design, and utilization of various kinds of computer information system and software development in all sort of institutions, education department, research institutes, enterprises, and the planning authorities, statistical authorities, programming departments, policy research departments of the state administrative organs at all levels, etc.


5. Major: Mathematics and Applied Mathematics 
     Training Objectives
     The training goal is to cultivate applicable talents with high qualities. The talents should have a good command of basic theories, basic knowledge and basic skills of mathematical sciences. He or she must have received the primary scientific research training so that he or she has the rudimentary knowledge about financial and economic management and the capacity to take care of the data analysis and processing, the mathematical modeling, the computer programming and the development of software applications. He or she should be proficient at using mathematics and computer technology to solve practical problems, be qualified to work in various enterprises and institutions and financial and economic sectors, be suitable for engaging in either the business promotion and management, utilization, and research and development or the teaching, management, and research work in education departments.

     Employment Orientation
     Graduates have access to the positions in various enterprises, institutions, and financial and economic sectors as well as the jobs of teaching, managing, and researching in the divisions of educational management and colleges.


6. Major: Statistics 
     Training Objectives
     The training goal is to cultivate compound senior talents with a solid foundation in mathematics, a good command of basic theories and methods of statistics, a proficiency in the utilization of computer technology and analysis software. In addition, he or she must possess a rudimentary knowledge of economics and basic skills like data processing and statistical analysis, etc. He or she should be such a talent who can undertake tasks such as statistical investigations, quantitative analysis and statistics collection, and the exploitation and research of resources in statistical authorities, enterprises and institutions, financial and economic sectors, and management departments.
     Main Courses
     Probability Theory, Mathematical Statistics, Operations Research, Applied Stochastic Processes, Sampling Technique, Software Package for Social Statistics, Statistical Prediction and Decision, Linear Algebra, Advanced Mathematics, Statistics, Time Series Analysis, Applied Multivariate Statistical Analysis, Principles of Management, Market Research and Statistics, National Economic Accounting, Macroeconomics, Microeconomics, Econometrics, etc.
    Employment Orientation
    Graduates mainly work in enterprises and institutions including state organs, financial systems (banking), securities, scientific institutions, statistical authorities, agriculture and forestry sectors, and insurance industry, etc. After the systematic and practical teaching instructions provided by the undergraduate education, graduates have received the basic training in theoretical research, skills application, and the utilization of computers as well as the rigorous training of scientific thinking. These Graduates are equipped with the basic theories, knowledge, and methods of statistics, the computer operating skills, and the elementary knowledge of natural science, green statistics, social science, and engineering, etc., which are related to the statistics of agriculture and forestry. They realize the dynamics and application prospects of the statistics theories and methods. In addition, they not only have solid foundations of mathematics and fundamental capabilities of data gathering, questionnaires designing, survey data processing, and statistics analysis, but also the essential competences in resources and environment statistics, resources monitoring and statistical analysis, and environmental value assessment.

7. Major:  Network Engineering 
     Training Objectives
     We attach much importance to the mastery of the basics of computer network system and communication theory; of designing, maintenance, management, security of computer network system; of related theory, knowledge, skills and methods in terms of application development. Thus, students are cultivated to be high-level specialized technical personnel undertaking works like design, development, deployment, operation and maintenance of computer network system with certain project management ability and good comprehensive quality,

     Main Courses
     Advanced Mathematics, Electric Circuits, Program Design Basics, Low Frequency Electric Circuit, Digital Logic, Embedded System Overview, Data Structure, Discrete Mathematics, Principles of Computer Organization, Database Principles, Operating System, Software Engineering, Modern Communication Principles, Basic Principles of Computer Network, Local Area Network and Network Engineering, Network Engineering Principles, Computer Network Management .

     Employment Orientation
     Graduates are available for work in various enterprises, public institutions, research institutions and administrative departments at all levels, and are capable of engaging in the theoretical research regarding computer network, communication network, computer network system, as well as the application system planning, design, analysis, development, management and maintenance work. In addition, Network Engineering undergraduates have another alternative to study abroad over the last two years in Dalhousie University, Canada, and can be obtained Canadian Dalhousie University degree simultaneous once they are qualified.
