Congratulations to Yidan Li for being awarded the 2019 year UBC-UBG Scholarship

Yidan Li has been selected by the Forestry Faculty of University of British Columbia, Canada as the 2019 year recipient of the UBC-UBG Award.

In a award ceremony on June 12th , Yidan Li, a third-year student in the 3+2 Ecology UBC-FAFU Program, was granted 40,000 RMB yuan (CAD$8,000) as the winner of the First Prize of UBC-UBG Scholarship. Dr. Peter Marshall, and Dr. Anil Shrestha from Forestry College of the UBC hosted the ceremony. Executive Dean, Professor Zhuang made a speech of congratulations. The OEC staff  and students were in attendance. 

  

In the acceptance speech, Li shared her learning experiences in the past three years. She made determination that she would make persistent efforts to obtain greater achievements in the future.

The UBC-UBG Scholarship, co-set up in 2012 by UBC and Shanghai Yilian Business Group, recognizes individual UBC applicants who have obtained outstanding academic achievements with comprehensive ability, including good English proficiency at FAFU before attending UBC for a Bsc. degree in Canada.
