The vice Chairman of Sri Lanka-China Friendship Association Mr.Bandera Visited FAFU

In the afternoon of April 6th, the President of FAFU Lan Sirenmet with Mr.Bandera, the vice Chairman of Sri Lanka-China Friendship Association (SLCFA),in the meeting hall on the 13th floor of Mingde Building. The General-Secretary Ye Xiaoping of Fujian International Friendship Association and representatives from relevant departments of FAFU also attended the meeting. 

During the meeting, President Lan Siren said that Sri-Lanka and China had a long history of friendly exchanges and cooperation. As a country along the “One Belt and One Road”, Sri-Lanka and Fujian province also have a long history of exchanges and cooperation. There would have broad prospects of cooperation between Sri-Lanka and FAFU on the unique and advantageous plantation of tea, rubber and other agricultural products. He said that FAFU was assigned by Fujian government as a double first-class construction university; we should actively implement the provincial strategic plan of 21st Century Silk Road, and strengthen our cooperation with the countries along the Maritime Silk Road. Through the action of SLCFA as a go-between for the two sides, FAFU will strengthen cooperation with the relevant universities and research institutions in Sri Lanka, and promote the development of Juncao technology, bee science, crops and aquatic sciences and other related fields in Sri Lanka for exchanges and cooperation.

Mr. Bandera expressed that the Sri Lanka-China Friendship Association was ready to serve as a bridge, to promote the connection and exchanges between FAFU and the Universities of Sri Lanka, and promote the practical agricultural technologies, such as Juncao technology and bee science, in Sri Lanka, thus encourage more students and researchers coming to FAFU for study. The two sides also exchanged their views on the establishment of the Sino-Sri Lanka Agricultural Cooperation Center and Confucius Institute, and other cooperation issues.
