A delegation of Nova Scotia provincial government of Canada visited FAFU

In the afternoon of November 15th, a delegation of seventeen people led by Premier Stephen McNeil of Nova Scotia visited Haixia Institute of Science and Technology of FAFU as well as the achievement exhibition of the 15th anniversary of Chinese-Canadian cooperation in running schools program and FAFU’s preponderant disciplines. Vice President Zheng Baodong met the delegation in the Wuyi Hall of Mingde Building. Both sides had an amicable communication about the issue of further promoting in-depth cooperation.

Commissioned by Chair of the University Council Yan Jinjing and President Lan Siren, Vice President Zheng Baodong, on behalf of FAFU, warmly welcomed the visit of the delegation and expressed his appreciation for the Premier’s support to the collaboration between Nova Scotia/Dalhousie University and FAFU. Premier Stephen McNeil said that the education was one of the most significant bonds of relationship between Nova Scotia and Fujian Province. At present, great achievements have been made in the cooperation and communication between Dalhousie University, Mount Saint Vincent University and FAFU.Thanks to the bilateral cooperation, students of two countries could interact with each other and have the access to better education; in the meanwhile, students could have a deep insight into the other culture and become the envoys of China-Canada friendship. Premier Stephen McNeil expressed that the Nova Scotia provincial government thought highly of the cooperation between two the sides, and would continually offer its full support to the cooperation.

At the meeting, Lawrence Stordy, Chair of Board of Governors of Dalhousie University, and Matt Hebb, Assistant Vice President of Government Relations & Economic Development highly affirmed the progress that made by both universities and expressed their expectation for further promoting the in-depth collaboration. Bai Jing, Consul General of Consulate General of Canada in Guangzhou, also showed her hope for further cooperation.

In addition, the Directors of Office of International Cooperation and Exchange, Office of Scientific & Technological Research, Office of Educational Administration, Graduate School, Overseas Education College, Jinshan College, College of Animal Sciences, College of Material Engineering, teacher representatives from Dalhousie University and outstanding student representatives from Sino-Canadian educational cooperation program also attended the meeting.
