The Confucius Institute of FAFU at DUT held “The Third Chinese Film Festival in Durban-2016”

In the evening of March 17th, local time of Durban, a typical Chinese movie was shown in the Cinema 1 of Suncoast Entertainment Center. More than three hundred persons watched the movie. 

  

The officers of the government of Durban came to watch the movie    

  

The citizens and the tearchers and students of DUT were waiting for admissions  

The Third Chinese Film Festival in Durban-2016 held by the Confucius Institute of FAFU at DUT opened with the showing of this movie. More than 10 officers from the Police Office and Marine Board in Durban,more than 100 teachers and students of DUT, the local residents and the Chinese and Overseas Chinese in Durban, a total of more than 350 persons attended in the opening ceremony, and together watched the first film of the Film Festival: “Saving Mr.Wu”.

There were no empty seats  

The Third Chinese Film Festival held by the Confucius Institute of FAFU at DUT consisted of two parts: the Premiere of Opening Ceremony, and “Chinese Cinema Week”. The opening ceremony was the third cooperation between the Confucius Institute of FAFU at DUT and CINE COMPLEX. In the following “Chinese Cinema Week” period, the Confucius Institute will carefully select several films with Chinese contemporary cultural characteristics to play in the local cinema of Durban and different campus of DUT, letting more local residents and the teachers and students to appreciate the contemporary China and the Chinese culture, and promoting the understanding of the Chinese film culture and the contemporary China by local residents in Durban.
It is known that, the Confucius Institute of FAFU at DUT will hold many large-scale events in 2016, to bring more rich cultural feasts for the citizens of the KwaZulu-natal Province and Durban, which will allow more South African to understand the modern China and experience the Chinese culture.
