FAFU got important progress in study on the mechanism of the removal of antibiotic resistance genes by hyperthermophilic aerobic fermentation (composting) technology

Recently, the research team of Professor Zhou Shungui of Environmental Bioelectrochemistry Center of College of Resources and Environment made important discoveries on the mechanism of the removal of antibiotic resistance genesby hyperthermophilic aerobic fermentation (composting) technology. The research achievementtitled《Hyperthermophilic composting accelerates the removal of antibiotic resistance genes and mobile genetic elements in sewage sludge》was published in the international renowned academic journal《Environmental Science & Technology》(impact factor=6.198).

The young teacher Liao Hanpeng of FAFU was the first author, Professor Zhou Shungui was the corresponding author, and FAFU was the signature unit of both the first author and corresponding author of the paper. The research was funded by National Program on Key Basic Research Project, Science and Technology Major Projectof Fujian Province, National Natural Science Foundation of China, and FundforDistinguishedYoungScholars in FAFU and so on.
