Carolyn Watters, the vice president of Dalhousie University in Canada, and his colleagues came to FAFU to negotiate the Joint Doctoral Training Program

In the morning of November 17th, Huang Yanhe, the vice president of FAFU, met with Dr.Carolyn Watters, the vice president of Dalhousie University in Canada, Dr.Alain Boutet, the Director of Department of International Cooperation and Exchange and Dr.David Gray, Dean of College of Agricultural Sciences of Dalhousie University, in the first Meeting Room of Mingde Building.
Huang Yanhe, on behalf of FAFU, warmly welcomed the arrival of Dr.Carolyn Watters and his colleagues. He said that, FAFU and Dalhousie University had a long and deep history of cooperation, the 3 Sino-foreign educational cooperation programs sponsored by the 2 universities were running smoothly, and in May 2017, Dalhousie University awarded the honorary doctorate degree to the president Lan Siren of FAFU, making the cooperation between the two sides to reach a new height. He hoped that the Joint Doctoral Training Program would proceed smoothly as planned to extend the bilateral cooperation to the postgraduate field.

Dr. Carolyn Watters spoke highly of and thanked the leaders of FAFU for their strong support for the cooperation. She also said that Dalhousie University wanted to actively promote the development of Joint Doctoral Training Programs. Dr. David Gray reported the performance of students of the Sino-foreign educational cooperation programs of FAFU at Dalhousie University, and said that in order to commemorate the cooperation between the two universities, Dalhousie University planned to build a Chinese garden in the campus of College of Agricultural Sciences, the opening of which would be one of the important events of the 200thanniversary of the founding of Dalhousie University. He hoped that the landscape architecture experts of both universities would participate in the design of the garden.


After the meeting, the relevant responsible persons of Graduate School and Overseas Education College, and the representatives of Dalhousie University discussed in details about the content of the agreement of the Joint Doctoral Training Program.
